Find Yourself...
On the road to healing it is crucial that you rediscover who you are and what you want to do with your life.
It helps to get involved in any past hobbies, out door activities, or even church groups. Faith is a strong ally. Find an outlet. Mine is poetry and if you explore my here at Mystic Emotions you'll surely run across some. Find inspiration, seek out peace and tranquility.
If you can't recall anything in time that you enjoyed doing, than start trying
new things. Learn how to play a new sport, Study something you always found
interesting, start doing crafts ... there's an endless world of hobbies that
await...

The point is that victims sometimes try to stay victims instead of becoming
survivors. Become a stronger person in the face of your tragedy and learn. LIVE
and learn. You may have had no choice in becoming the victim but you can chose
to become a survivor.
Try Meditation or prayer. Look into new belief systems, find comfort in the old.
Find the laughter that hides in your heart and nourish it. Take an extra long
bubble bath or go for a safe walk at dusk. Watch the sun rise or set.
Take time to notice the little things life offers:
The smell of morning coffee or tea,
The morning dew on the grass,
Birds
chirping,
A crisp rejuvenating breeze,
the red and gold hues of autumn,
the
snowflake in the winter,
a childs pure laughter,
an elders stories...
Abuse can make these things seem less important and take the joy of life out of
a person, leading to severe depression. I've gone through depression and know
how it can slowly drown you. Do not let this happen to you.
Find things that make life beautiful and worth living. Find yourself and
discover you are strong, you are a survivor.
